Sherman – US West Days

Julie, Megan, Ross,
My condolences. I remember Sherman (and all of you) as great friends. I can’t count the number of times we spent the night or stayed until some ridiculous hour playing games, having fun, and causing trouble.
One thing I remember distinctly for some reason is Sherman teaching me tennis (man, I hope my brain isn’t failing me right now). I was pretty young and we had wooden rackets (yes, that is how long ago it was), and Sherman came down and helped me learn some of the basics of playing tennis one summer vacation at Cleveland High Schools tennis courts. He was very patient and I don’t remember if it was one time or many, but I transferred some of that knowledge and passion into playing tennis during high school myself (albeit only for 2 years).
I am plenty old myself now, so details may be slightly out of whack, or even worse, it may have never happened (e.g. you may turn around and tell me that Sherman never played tennis… getting old sucks. I do have a distinct memory of it, but that has failed me before and will probably fail me again). I choose to keep the memory as it is though. You have my deepest sympathies for your loss.
I will try to dig up some of the photos we have and scan them in if they are worthy. – Aaron Johnson
