September 15, 2021Orbiting with Sherman
Sherman shared his wit and wisdom with anyone that came close to his planet. Surely he had his own planet, this beaming bright, thought provoking man. He welcomed us all into his spirit filled home, where we could spend hours arcing around his philosophical orbits, and sipping from his generous spirit center late into the night. Sherman was a gem, someone that you would wish to bring home to meet your parents…and so I did. He came hand in hand with his wife, my friend, Julie Rosten. My parents loved Sherman, and the feeling was mutual. Genius loves company, and Sherman and my father, Ross Beaumont, made a match of joy and brilliance, grace and generosity.
This photo is from The Russian Christmas in 1988, one of the many extravaganza evenings that the Woo family hosted for family and friends, as many as they could bring into their beautiful home.
With love to the family of Sherman… to Julie and Rosten and Megan, Quintin and Gin, to Guy and to all of your ever growing families… and to the family of friends that Sherman has made throughout his life, and within his effervescent career in Denver…May you hold the spirit of Sherman close in your hearts, with laughter and tears, and with ultimate joy in celebration of his extraordinary life.
A note: Sherman had stated that he wished to be reincarnated as a cat in the Beaumont house. My mother promised, and I will do my best.
